Re: Telocity Sends out letter of Apolgy

Is the increased staffing designed to speed up cancellation requests as well because I sent my cancellation request in 3 business days ago and I have not heard squat from them!

Anyone know of a better way to cancel Telocity other than sending an e-mail to disconnect@telocity.net which probably just ends up in someone's e-mail trash bin?

Thank you.

I just sent the Email to billing and then filed a dispute for all charges with my credit card company. Seems they have alot of disputes with Telocity. Anyways, I got my credit from my credit card company and they are going after Telocity. That works out just fine for me!

I can at least appreciate the fact that they sent this out at all. At least they're trying to be big about it and admitting thier mistakes. God knows I've had enough trouble with them.

Well, unfortunately for me, I paid with my debit/credit card. I don't think the bank offers any sort of dispute capabilities with such an account.

nope, your bank will try and rip you off if you decide to block/cancel/dispute ... then you will have to dispute
with your bank ;-( ... That's why everybody likes those
debit cards - comes straight out of your account... no
questions ask..

Yeah, I'm pretty much screwed. It didn't even cross my mind that I would get jacked by Telocity.

I did not have to cancel in the traditional sense. I moved recently and so had to start a "new" account for the new address. The transition was painless. The wait was about 2 weeks to get the "new" account up and running. The cancellation of the line at my previous address took 2 days.

Compared to most on this board, I have had a very positive experience with Telocity. Their customer service has been good as well as with tech support. The disappointment had been with the performance of the the line itself for a little while there. Since being switched to a new main circuit, their high-velocity speed has been accurate.

The one suggestion to those that truly can not stand Telocity is to cancel rather than hold on to your accounts for months and months and just whine about how they suck ass. You should just get rid of the service. Choices for high-speed access are many for a lot of people.

This goes for any service that you are unhappy with. I never understood people that kept on bitching to me about AOL. "It's so slow! I can never get on!" Well then cancel!

Okay, I feel better.

I agree with you that, if I hate Telocity, I should cancel their service.

However, this is easier said than done. I have contacted the Telocity Billing Department on numerous occasions, by phone and via e-mail, and they have not responded to my request to cancel my service.

I've been trying to cancel their service for over a month now. At first, I couldn't even get through to the Billing Department. I got through once and I spoke to someone about cancelling my service. Since then, they have not responded or even acknowledged that they are working on my request.
