anon posted : Actually, I keep putting my TCP Params back to orig settings every other turn. Just got a reading of 1920000 attainable rate (vcstats) set to 1536 Receive (1.5) and 384K Transmit. I beleive this modem is set right.

For the record, Im getting 80-90 k download speed tonight, both file download and ZDnet bandwidth speed check.

I notice that the lights on the modem will "fly" and then stop for a couple of seconds though, and resume the fast blinking again, like traffic is stopping and starting and stopping again. Any ideas?

Thanks,

drmorley posted : I had the same problem. Uploads were great, nice ping times, but 90% of the time my download was around 200-300K. At 4 AM I would get around 1700, but any other time my speeds sucked. I figured out that they had oversold the Chicago DSLAM and that speeds during peak time weren't going to get better until they added another T3. I was told not to hold my breath on that getting done so I canceled their service and went with another provider. For the record MegaPath rules. So far I've had zero down time and get over 100% of their advertised speeds.

fyi i'm 2200 feet from my co
