I play EA's NHL game and they would quit on you too. Some of them would wait till like 5 seconds left in the game and quit. Only thing you can do is not play them anymore or find a new place to play.
--
"Raymond Shaw is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life." - Bennett Marco

pepperhead posted : 265 upload is more than most companies offer. You should have no problem hosting with that. Freezing is one thing your going to have to get used to. It happens with cable people and it happens with dsl people. It could be you or it could be them. The only way to kinda figure it out is to run traceroutes. I am not sure what method Madden is using for this. On the computer I think you have a peer-to-peer or client-server option. Peer you distribute the lag and client your opponent gets it all. As for the 56ker's challenging you, ignore them. ;)
--
"Raymond Shaw is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life." - Bennett Marco

wheelzoff posted : The only thing I don't like so far about madden is when you get a challenge you can't see the other players speed, so you have no idea if you're playing a 56k or cable user, which sucks. The whole time I was offering games to fast connection they all declined or had accept challenges off. Also people always quit the madden games when you're ahead to far and it doesn't count as a loss in the rankings, what kind of crap is that? It should as least do what yahoo games does, if the other person doesn't let you quit, you have to forfeit. But as for the play and speed it was great on attbi, no lag at all thanks to my rock solid connection :).
--
"The Stars win the Stanley Cup, The Stars win the Stanley Cup" Ralph Strangis!!

Carbon Unit posted : I think your right, some 56k users can cause high lag during a game, its more on there side, I somewhat find it hard to believe that with 56k you can get a good enough ping time to play PS2 level games, I have 1M/256k so I will see how it goes
--
SuSE

skyjock41 posted : Ok got the adapter and hooked it up to play some Online games. I played two games of Madden Football demo where two people challenged me. On both games the crap froze up.

I got a cable internet connection of 1.5/256 which is decent. Here are my questions.

#1 Are the players hosting the games? Seems kinda ghetto to me if we are!

#2 Is there any way to tell what kind of connection your opponent has before you play? I accepted 2 challenges for the madden demo. Now if they were both 56k then i could see why it froze!

#3 Is the player challenging you to a game the host?

Im gonna be laid back on this one for about 2 weeks so they can work the kinks out of the system (plus SOCOM is sold out and my free copy of TMBO wont arrive for a while) but IMO they need to get some servers cause even with my 256 upload i dont feel its enuff to host a game.
--
Fiber Optics is the future of high-speed internet access.
