umm well im not sure, but i think my email is being passed around for viruses, and they the recipients dont know or dont care..
i get alot of emails and bulk mails with the subject "of service" and they're blank! no attachment, yet size is 174k, and theres no body..
i just dont want a part of anything, so in case my email is being passed around, i just want to stop the email part (not that i ever use it. i use the yahoo email for junk anyway) BUT keep my yahoo account. I still use the "my yahoo" often! |

I don't think you can without setting up a new account and that really won't make the old one go away still.
Have you tried contacting Yahoo about it? |

I scoured the help and the only thing I can see is to delete your entire account and then set a new one up. Will you be able to use your same ID? I don't think you can find that out unless you try. Set up another account with email, delete the entire account and see if you can reuse the name. Let us know what you find out. |

yeah, they're clueless.. they just said that "receiving bulk mail is against their TOS and to forward their addresses so they can properly take care of it" ok.. i dont care about getting bulk mail, but they never addressed the problem i asked them..
strange part.. i have 0 emails in my "sent" box.. but i have received a couple of emails with the subject "re:" |

I think if you ignore your email for long enough (don't check it at all), it will just go into an inactive state anyways. |

Well that is just a typical trick of SPAMMERS to just get you to take a second look. Try it yourself there is no reason you can't type an original message with the subject "re: whatever" |
