Hayward0 posted : Well, you are pinged from the east and west and not simulataniosly so the resolution is probably closer to 5 min, but yes very brief outages could sneak through.
I had them for a very brief period of time about a month or so ago, but they usually turned out to be DSL loss (that didn't trip alarm) if I rebooted the modem.
BS is a relatively small operation down here, and I THINK relatively modern, though not fiber consumer side of CO. Tropical Storms and Hurricanes keep the system pretty well maintained, and at least segmentally updated.
Of the two huricanes I have been here for there was not loss of phone service, unless you happened to loose your drop, or a few places a tree happen to get the line on your street. The system as a whole hardly blinked, throughout Georges which had power out from 1-2 weeks.

------------------
-Hayward
»haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

Hayward0 posted : Are they "service" or "DSL" outages???

If they are DSL then that is your Telco monkeying around. If it is just service, then that is Telocity.
