The only thing Event Viewer displays as errors are Mozilla (which, for some reason, crashes at random points since I upgraded to 1.1) and "cdrom" - my CD writer crashes when I have Trillian loaded for some reason (which I believe is another SP1 issue, but I really don't mind, as I don't need Trillian open 24/7 anyway). But, I'll clear the log, and try to get my system to freeze - just in case I'm missing something.

What is Direct Connect? Is that a 3rd party app or something that is part of Windows? My only SP1 issue so far is remote connections. Is that what you referring to? Because I also have my PC lockup only when using remote connections. It never had that problem until I used SP1.

It does not lockup when connecting, but after several hours of use it will hose the system.

1) If you can view details about the error, you might be able to track down what is causing it and attempt to fix it. (Such as a certain system/program file causing the crash.)

2) In Run, type:

sfc /scannow

That will repair any core files that have been replaced that weren't supposed to be. It requires the XP cd.

3) Last resort, format..
