They need to fix the Night time SLOW DOWNS

Pacbell has been good for me for the 3 months i have had it but since the end of dec. everyday around 4:30 PM to 12:00 AM the speed goes down too 150 down and then after midnight its back upto 1200 down over 2 months of this crap and they say "what are you talking about, it doesnt slow down" bull. I have read a lot of others having same issues with pacbell sametime of day too. If they can fix that it will be great service.

You're having trouble from 4:30PM TO Midnight. Well that's about the time that more then 20% of the Bay area logs onto the WEB. Not really much we can do to cut down on the traffic, but it's kinda like the freeways, if there's people on them, we're stuck in line to get where we want to go... Same way on the internet.

Keep plugging along..

Same problem- sometimes it gets dog slow! It's fast as hell in the morning though. I'm not in the Bay area, but in the Sacto area.

As far as the possibility of this being the entire internet, I never had problems on my dialup (UC). Yes, it was slow all the time, but frequently my Pacbell DSL is just impossible to use...

What do you mean just like a freeway? heh...your minimum speed is 384 and if u cant give 384 througout the day then dont say 'we guarantee 384 down speed.' heh

Yeah, it's not as if the phone company could do something like, oh, I don't know, buy more telephone equipment or put up more telephone lines or hire more telephone technicians in order to provide a level of service consistent with the customer expectations that their saturation advertising creates . . . .
