First attempt at flashing new firmware failed, second attempt went fine. For the heck of it I tried to flash again....first attempt always fails, second attempt works.
And since there's no mention of a DHCP fix, I suspect it has the same problems as 1.43.3 . |

Well, we should know in 4 hours and about 15 minutes if the fixed one problem. i.e., » Just like clockwork, every 4 hours and 15 minutesForgive me if I wait at least 5 and maybe 10 hours until I try it out. |

Upgrade went smooth port 80 and port 113 show closed though.
Edit port 80 must have just been a false reading at Sygate, the first time I ran the test, Sygate and PCflank both report it as stealth now. |

All stealth now, I followed instruction's posted by Arathaen. Go to advanced Go to forwarding In the first line of ext. type the following: 1st blank spot: 113 2nd blank spot: 113 check TCP in the 192.168.2. (blank) put in a nonexistant IP (example 192.168.2.200) check enable apply |

I'll wait and see how well it works, and if many report a continuation of the disconnect issue. |

No disconnects here, nor did I have any with 1.43, All seems to be working fine for me. Other than port 113 not being stealth, but it's stealth now after above fix. |

thanks! Just flashed w/ 144Z. I wasn't having the BIG disconnects others were having. But too often, I'd have a quick loss of LAN followed by an immediate reconnect. Hoping to see this eliminated now.
It could be my imagination, but everything seems a whole lot quicker now!
Will keep the rest of you posted as time goes on. |

The weirdest thing just happened to me. Apparently the router's UPnP support in the latest firmware prevented Windows Messenger from starting on two computers in my house. Upon disabling UPnP in the router, I was successfully able to start the Messenger clients. |

1.43 was working great. I upgraded to 1.43.3 and regretted it nearly immediately. Trying 1.44 now. Had a hard time getting PPPoe to connect, other than that, everything seems to be working at this time |

can u guys tell me what sort of "WAN Connection Type" are there available in the new version? Is HeartBeat support there? The heart beat support was included in version 1.42.9 but for some reason it was removed from 1.43 for BEFW11S4 V2. I need that to be able to log into my ISP. |

Any advice if the upgrade to 143.3 failed and you can no longer access the router? I have been on the phone twice with Linksys and neither tech was able to help me access the now defunct router.

Ouch! Not sure about new linksys firmware.. How about trying an older firmware flash? Some of those older firmware from linksys has an executable that allows you to push the firmware to the host. On a side note and hope your sitting down while reading this... Usually when a firmware flash fails it's dust for the unit. Hopefully there is something that the linksys techs can do for you. Basically what your doing is programming the BIOS. Properly written firmware can back out of failed attempts to allow another shot at it. Hopefully in your case an older flash might do the trick. What it sounds like to me, and two Linksys techs later... The BIOS on the unit is destroyed. Ironic story to share: I did this last week to my Samsung dvd-rom. The website gave the link to download a fixed firmware for my drive, but failed to mention that it was for a later model, replacing the 12x discontinued dvd-roms with 16x. The firmware wasn't the right one for my unit and it's toast. Drats!! I feel your pain... Good luck with it however.. Hopefully the 3rd tech might have another solution.. Or, a brand new one will be under the tree this year. -- Broadbandit |

My Internet Gateway icon disappeared after updating from 1.433 to 1.44. Is my UPNP working? Tried both disable UPNP and enable UPNP. Both don't work. |

Heart Beat is there on BEFSX version so my best guess is it'll be there for BEFW once it's released (I hope). |

I had update fail and was able to update by going back to 192.168.1.1 I had changed the default IP to 172 network. After second attempt succeeded using 192 network it reset back to 172. Go figure.
I'm using MN-100 now and very happy, but still following Linksys as I have several customers with them. |

Mine too. Have you or anyone found a way to get it back? I've gone thru the Linksys Knowledgebase w/o success. Other than that, it's been 8+ hours - no connection resets and everything remains quick.n Except for loosing the gateway icon, this version is the best I've had. |

12 hours and no connection reset so far.
If your flash attempt failed, you might try giving yourself a static IP (eg. 192.168.1.2). I had to do that because I somehow lost my LAN IP after the first flash attempt failed. Take a look at "winipcfg" or "ipconfig/all". |

Firmware is doing well on my BEFSX41. I still have the icons some of you are missing:
In 'My Network Places' is see 'Linksys BEFSX41'. But 'properties' and 'Invoke' don't work? Didn't work in other versions either.... what's this icon for?
In 'Network Connections' is see 'Internet Connection' which allows me to change UPNP mappings. |

12 hours here and no connection reset. Firmware appears quite responsive. I don't use UPnP, so I don't have any input there. |
