fluidwireles posted : looking at that traceroute I don't see anything significantly wrong w/ your bandwidth or your carriers... your initial hop shows 10ms, then 20ms....after that your packets are getting lost in the "cloud" so to speak and it doesnt really matter what the speed is then to google (since we are trying to get to xbox stuff).

Tracing to the xbox location I dont see any issues with your route as far as degradation of service. Your last hop (14) shows 100ms... thats not great but not really bad enough to knock you off a network by any means. You run from NY -> Port Ore -> Seattle where it hits an OC48 network (fast)... up to that point there are not issues, and once it hits the 207 network (microsoft) ICMP must be disabled...if you attempt to ping www.microsoft.com you cannot (207.46.230.218), traceroutes get stuck as well (at 207.46.155.10, same as the xbox site where i got stuck).

so we've eliminated the bandwidth issue, you're ok there....I dont know too much about xbox networking but Im sure its just like most microsoft TCP/IP... I'll look into it or read what others say might give a clue.
