Back on December 18, 2000 We placed an order with PacBell for DSL. They gave us a date for the activation of the DSL line on January 9, 2001. We called to follow up the order on January 5, 2001 and for our surprise we found out that the order was canceled by PacBell due to some reason that only God and Pacbell knows. They could not explained to us why they canceled the first order. However, they promise to expedite our new order which we need it to call again to place. Finally on January 26, 2001 we got the their DSL line. To our surprise the Pacbell DSL that we requested does not support UNIX base system. That was not told to us when we place the first order. After talking to more than 10 people and 20 hrs of talk time, we asked them to canceled the order, which was on January 27, 2001. On January 27, 2001 we place an order with Earthlink DSL which can support non-windows base system. 10 days after that Earthlink told us that our order was canceled because PacBell left on our line a flat coil electronic plate that unable any outside DSL company to give us service. After spending two days with PacBell on the phone trying to ask them to remove the plate finally they removed the plate. Once again we called Earthlink to reactivate the order and for our surprise this past weekend 2/23/01 they told us that the order was canceled again because Pacbell does not want to give them a line for us until 90 Days from Friday. Can anyone tell me what did we do wrong to be punished this way, beside not using windows and PacBell DSL? I think is not fair not to give me a DSL line with Earthlink simple because I do not want PacBell DSL. Please help, need advised and help to find a solution for this problem. Anger Consumer.
PS: I spoke with someone at PacBell DSL Department on 2/23/01 and he told me that if I want DSL from PacBell he could give it to me right away. What a Trip.... [text was edited by author 2001-02-27 00:04:38]
