Re: Hmmmmm...smells of Anti-TrustCablevision, Winfirst, Cablelynx...you haven't heard of them because they are only local or very regional providers. |

A) Where are they?
B) Do they have a regional monopoly like most other systems have?
C) Are their customers satisfied?
I am very interested in the last one since if people are happy, then they have no need to want anyone else. |

A) Local or regional cable operators
B) Yes
C) If you have to ask if Winfirst and OOL customers are satisfied you obviously haven't been here very long. |

When I asked where, I meant where in the country.
Answer to #2 answers a second question I had in general (and confirms my suspicions.)
I have been here a while and never heard anything about Winfirst. I have heard OOL and have heard both good and bad so there are varying degrees of satisfaction within the same company depending on where you are. |

Winfirst/Surewest is located in Sacramento, CA, OOL is located in New Jersey and New York and Cablelynx is in Texas. The first two offer 10Mb service and OOL is one of...if not the highest rated cable ISP on DSL reports. While they have a monopoly cable franchise, they still have competitors from the telcos like most cable operators have. |
