Wow, I can't believe they are also cutting support in the private newsgroups too. I remember the first time the TSG people started frequenting the newsgroups, before even the BellSouth forum here. I was quite surprised BellSouth had folks in the newsgroups and then later on BBR/DSLR. Oh well, probably not much that can be done.

Usually this type of stuff happens when the corporate execs talk to the corporate lawyers and find out there's usually some kind of liability for providing too much information on a site like this. It could be competitive info, or just someone giving a rumor about something that turns out to be false but causing headaches up above.

Sucks though.

Imo some of the rationalizing going on here is fairly ridiculous. Who would sue over something said in a forum?
Would i sue my isp for not giving me correct tech support? Hades its their equipment, if my router breaks am I gonna sue them for 2 or 3 hundred bucks? No. Ok lets say hades happens (knocks on wood) and my inet goes out, lets say it goes out for 3 months. Thats still less than 500 bucks. Is it worth going to court over? I think not. Is there pain and suffering for not being able to connect to the internet? I think not. Hades for some of these people (including myself) it probably wouldn't hurt us to see a little sun once in a while. Fact is some suit needs to find a second job (to keep himself busy), or go into tech support so he can actually help clean up some of the messes his failed policies create.

It was announced the other day that BSIS (BellSouth Internet Service) is being absorbed by BellSouth Telecommunications (BST), the regulated local telecom arm of the company, effective 1/1/2003. It does not surprise me in the least that the first action by BST is to muffle these guys that have done so much for FastAccess on this site. That's the BST mentality, coming from a BST employee for the last 22 years.

Anonymous for a reason...

Anyone wonder why BSIS and BST would merge?
Before the new year at that...

Remember this?

House Passes Tauzin/Dingell Bill

This is my opinion only, I have no inside info, but we do have a Republican Congress now....

I could find no current reference to this bill except that it was going to the Senate in February...

Anyone know the status for the Senate Version?
