this is one of the sharper images ive seen. Try the software version of this that installs on to your computer. it will only work with an nvidia graphics chipset i think, however. It's an archive of pictures. I believe that most (if not all) of the full colour ones are pictures that were taken from airplanes by the USGS or other entities. Still cool nonetheless, especially since the web based version doesn't expire. If you're not in one of Earthviewers high-res areas you could also try » terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.comtho the images tend to be pretty old, their usually better quality then EV's lower resolutions. |

You can actually see a plane taking off (see the shadows). Pretty neat. And some are more recent. I live in Cinci and can see construction that has been going on for only a few months. How did you find area 51 shanto? |

Scary.. found the military AFB near my homeTalk about a U.S. Security issue.
Very detailed builings.
If someone ever wanted to bomb us.. that is all they would need. Least now we know where they get some of those Satelite pictures.
Anybody find the WTC in New York?
Are they standing in the pictures?
That would be something to save. For your kids and all. |

Re: You mean WAS WTC.First of all, this isn't really a security issue worth worrying about because anyone could buy the pictures from private companies, and the governments of the USA, Russia, or any other country that happens to have orbiting satellites; just as easily (just like keyhole did to do the earth viewer thing).
Secondly if Bush did attempt to shut the sites down people would scream bloody murder over censorship.
If you really want to worry about national security worry about the vulnerabilities in our immigration system, or, (dare I say it.........) any of the number of countries who have said they would, or have attempted to use terrorism to wage an asymmetrical war against the USA (such as China). |

So I went to Mapquest.com, found neighboring streets, entered just a street name, and then followed the street to mom's home. Incredible! I've spent the last three hours looking at relative's homes, my old homes... This is good! |
