Well, if it can power the THG Monstrosity(3.06 P4 @4.1 GHz) and make the system completely stable, then it must be pretty darn good. |

This is the ultimate cooling machine.:) (LN doesn't count because it's not perpetual.) |

just to further comment on that -40C, that how cool prometia can get it, but extremly o/ced chips (im talking 260fsb on athlon xp, in my example) will report somewhere around 10C, which isnt bad per ce, but still 50C higher than that cool looking -40C |

prometia is not always -40c.... if you can not get -40 on a stock clocked system then you have a dud and can get a new one if all has failed in your attempts....
most guys on there still get below zero even when pushed to the edge... these help more on intel chips where you can not unlock the multiplier.....

the only drawback i can see with prometeia that would cause me to buy vapochill is the waiting list to get one. vapochill is alot less (still in the $500 range) and can be bought and shipped today..... plus it looks better prometeia has a better voltage setup and gets more mhz.... up to 50-60mhz more but thats not enough to make me loose site of the vapochill unit. take a run over to xtememsystems.org, OPP did a great job on his review. |

Yes, but this thing kept the "Iceman"(THG's 4.1 GHz monster) stable at 4100 MHz, and the temp was around -53 degrees C idle(at least, that's how I read it, I'm not sure...having read the article about a week ago).
260 FSB!!! Darn, that's like, 520 DDR. I can just imagine that with dual-channel DDR333 =9 Imagine it with a 15 multiplier! 3900 MHz for a 2600+! That thing would probably run at 35-40C, even with this cooler. Of course, the THG article said that by increasing the vacuum in the cooler system, you can drop temps by almost 70C. |

the prommy is the best you can get right now... with the best hardware O/Ced to the highest.. (3.06 @ 4.1 or so, or 2700+ @ 2900 mhz) you'll see -15C load temps.... probalby -17 idle. here's another other place you can get it as well: » www.iceepc.com/index.htm ··· og.htm&1 |
