Overclocking / Modding → wheres the clock speed?

Clean install of win98se/intel chipset drivers/dx 8.1 and detenator 40.72's in that order.I have oc'ed my gf3 ti 500 using coolbits reg hack with no problem before reformat.Now when I check vid card clock speeds in det drivers it is grey out with no #'s.I check box and restart but after reboot there still is no #'s.Its as if it cant detect the core/memory speeds of the card.Only thing different before reformat is I used dx 8.0.Any ideas on this?

I would use a program like RivaTuner instead... coolbits isn't that great.

In other words you do not know the answer.

you need a different set of coolbits to overclock with the 40.xx and higher drivers.

Same coolbits hack and 40.72 drivers worked before I reformatted.Only thing that I changed was going from DX 8.0 to Dx 8.1.I can move the sliders up to 100mhz but as soon as I test it screen garbles.For whatever reason it is not detecting the default clock speeds.It is not affecting performance,still 3dmarks's the same as before.
