WET 11 vs. Smartbridges for clients

For those with first hand experience with the Smartbridges equipment, how do they compare for clients? I like the output power of the WET11s but from my observations I think the WETs are as deaf as a post in many situations. We are seeing poor throughput and dropped pings on some of our longer connections (over 2 miles or so). So, Wavecrazy Tegen and anybody else, what is the verdict? Is it work the extra $$$?

It's definitely worth the extra money. With the new software update coming out and the new Total gear soon to be available, I see no reason not to go with SmartBridges. If you figure in the time you will spend putting the WET11 together with antenna, pigtail, PoE, etc., it's just not worth your time.

We've seen the DHCP problem with the WET11s and the SmartBridges are rock solid. Plus, the WET11 isn't outdoor rated, so while we've seen them work fine in 100 degree heat and 20 degree cold, those temperatures may decrease their life. And, if they die, we'll be replacing them with SmartBridges.

Dont even have to think about that one. Smartbridges. Anyway, how much more would it cost to go with the indoor airbridge versus the wet11? Not much actually.

Well, if you look at it legally, there isn't a comparision as you can't mount any antenna to it besides the one it comes with.

I definately think they are worth the money as well. I personally believe in you get what you pay for.

Slightly OT, but it's along the lines of "you get what you pay for." We have a MaxRad MSP series 14dB 90 degree sector antenna for one sector of our tower and WISP series 14dB 90 degree panels for the other three sectors. Nearly everyone close associates with the MSP series rather than the WISP series antenna that is pointed directly at them.

So today we were sitting around wondering what antenna to use at our new tower, the Pac Wireless 12dB horizontal 90 degree sector or the MSP 14dB 90 degree sector, you guess which one we picked! While we really want to run horizontal to reduce the noise, the MSP has been such a solid performer we just are afraid not to use it!
