How do I update gcc in Redhat Linux 7.0

I found the webpage and see links to 19 different files. I'm using an AMD k6-2 processor. Which of these files do I want to download and what do I do with them afterwards?

Without knowing what page it is, it's hard to tell

You could just use up2date and let it give a list, then select gcc. It will solve any dependencies for you.

or you could go to the Red Hat 7.0 site.. download the latest gcc from
»www.redhat.com/support/e ··· 132.html

and issue rpm -Uvh

That's how I did it. .and works fine so far.

Also, www.rpmfind.net has the latest GCC .rpm packages available to download.

Unless you are an Alpha geek, use up2date. If you have XWindows running do it that way. One thing to remember, up2date will only update installed packages. Be carefull and if you use up2date, especially in the command line mode and the use the -u, you MAY have to setup lilo again. This is because if you haven't setup the config file to skip kernel updates. Make sure to check out RedHat's webpage for kernel upgrades.
