I was supposed to lose service Feb. 28, but my email from Rhythms still works(I'm on @home cable now). I should plug in my dsl modem and see if it still works, it would be funny as hell if they forgot to turn my CO off(it would be a good backup connection). So far, the cable service rocks; but it's still new in my area so that will most likely change(Preying nobody else signs up on my node ;) )

Well I hope this helps everyone wanting to know about Rhythms CO situation.

Neal
[and then blackfire stopped]
[Wayd says:]

As of right now, Hartford is still an operational market and merely has had new installs suspended. Your service will continue to work. Only three colocations in all of CT are currently due to be shuttered for the moment, and even then they are not being disassembled permanently, only having their DS3s shut down and certain cards removed.
As for your service, if you didn't cancel it, it should still work and you should still be billed either by Rhythms if you were Power Internet or by your ISP if you went through a partner.
And as for the node situation, if you go for @Home through anyone other than Cox in CT, I would pray hard. I've worked for most of the others who partner with @Home and they are almost always behind in dealing with node loads. Cox has done VERY good work making the system clean and tidy.

anon posted : Sorry to hear you didn't get any notice Sadowski, now I feel lucky to have had a month. The only reason Rhythms probably informed me is because I had a business line directly through them. Unfortunately, Rhythms doesn't care about residential customers, they only want the high profit of business lines. Although, as a testament to their management personnel, even those lines are only barely keeping them from going under just like the other CLECs(very poorly run company financially). I still haven't had time to see if my dsl still works, I'll check tomorrow.
