TxCode 5 SymptomsI have a customer who cannot stay connected. Would this be the same TxCode 5 errors reported? She hasn't reported TxCode 5 errors, but before I start trouble shooting, I was wondering if anything was found to resolve it? --gwen |

Get the error codes from her - if she's not connected there will be some sort of error code from the software.
Also, ask her to be on the lookout for radar detectors in her area. |

Also I've seen the Validation XPOL Isolation settings just disappear on several occasions for no reason, causing various TxCode's, especially if the Validation XPOL Isolation and Revalidation XPOL Isolation settings are at 0. By running the Antenna Pointing utility I was able to correct mine. Just a thought. |

I already had her run Websetup (if that's the antenna pointing stuff you're talking about). No change. |

Gwen, Running Antenna Pointing may (or may not) 'fix' the problem but here is how to do it. Websetup does have the 'antenna pointing' step in it. But what you want to do is...
Go to Start>Programs>Direcway. There should be a icon on the menu named "Antenna Pointing". Click on that icon to run the utility. Enter a 'false' zipcode that is proper for a location 50 or 100 miles away from your dish. Click Next and you get the signal level screen. Exit from the utility and launch your browser.
At this point...If you right click the DW icon and select Status, you will see that the transmitter is ranging.
It is not necessary to let it finish, right now. Close your browser and run Antenna Pointing again. Enter your correct zipcode and do it all again.
This time, let the ranging process complete.
If ranging fails...come on back. The problem is too serious for Antenna Pointing to fix. CM |
