SAVVIS - their slant on things

I called SAVVIS (My ISP) over the weekend to see what was happening. They really have had no idea to date...

Yesterday I was told that Savvis would be meeting AT&T with Northpoint last night...

However, I have just got of the phone to my sales rep...

They will be migrating users to Rhythms, where possible, and if that can't be done, a special offer on a DS1 line will be made.

They are waiting to find out who will be able to get Rhythms or the DS1 offer, but won't know until Thursday.

I guess I'll keep carefully feeding my DSL line until then.

Northpoint going down on April 2nd...

Good day Tom~

I regret to inform you that Northpoint has been bought out by AT&T and did not purchase their existing clients along with them. This means that all of Northpoint circuits will be shut off Monday April 2, 2001 without exception. I realize how extremely inconveniencing this is for us and all of our clients so I wanted to give you a heads up and a number of solutions that SAVVIS can offer to remedy your individual situation.

SAVVIS is doing our best to accommodate each of you in this terrible situation, but this information I am giving you is ALL the information I have in regards to this matter. We have no power to do anything other than these 3 options and have no answers to any questions regarding this information. We are working diligently to contact all of our 500 Northpoint customers in the next 3 days, so please choose what is best knowing that there are no exceptions. Thank you so very much for your understanding.

Here are your options that SAVVIS can offer you:

1)We can upgrade you to a SAVVIS dedicated DS1 at discounted pricing which means you will have a 40 day installation period
until service is restored. I can give you pricing on this if you are interested. It is extremely low for DS1 connectivity.

2)You can upgrade to a Internet plus Firewall solution on our new Intelligent IP platform for a discounted price which you will also have
a 40 day installation period until service is restored. I can send you pricing on this if you are interested.

3)You can call 1-888-212-5483 to cancel service and make your own future arrangements...with SAVVIS' sincerest apologies for
Northpoints failure to continue service.

Any of these choices other than canceling service requires that you sign a new contract and a new term of 1,2, or 3 years. All current Northpoint contracts are void!

I thank you for your understanding in this most unfortunate matter and hope that one of our solutions will workout for you. Please just let me know what you would like to do going forward! Take care Tom and again my apologies!!
