Re: Pink/purple vertical stripes on images?

Thanks for the suggestion. I have it set to 800x600dpi, and 16bit (High Color), so I that is probably not the problem. I've had it at this setting since forever, and the appearance of these stripes doesn't correlate to any changes that I've made.

Is this a sign that my video card is dying?

Heh....
Are you using Netscape by any chance?

I find that it happens to me on some of the pictures....And hitting Reload does not help.
Only way to fix that is to go to Edit-->Preferences-->Advanced-->Cache and purge both, disk and memory cache
Then, reload the image...It seems to work...I don't know what's causing it (perhaps bad memory modules or timings...I have PC100 mixed with PC133)

Well, first of all, are you having this symptom in any other programs?

If so, it could be caused by an electromagnetic field of some kind. Make sure you don't have your computer, other monitors, speakers, stereo recievers, magnets, or appliances near your monitor (some devices cause interference even when off if close enough).

I am using IE5.5, and have been for months with no problems.
This only occurs in IE, and the vertical stripes do NOT fill up the whole screen. Only certain pages within IE, and only the jpeg images portion, (and as in prev. example, only the black background of the octools.com main page is affected with the stripes). Many pages are not affected. I have checked for sources of interference, and rules them out. It is also intermittent - when I shut down and restart, it doesn't do it for a couple minutes, but then starts up again, every time. I have tried flushing the IE cache, but no change.
