ICS isn't that hard.... i have already setup more then 10 system using win2k and winxp... and even win98<br><br>and i never had those problem saying connecting to internet....<br><br>i even setup a system with 3 NICs and 2 systems linking to it.<br><br>the server :-<br>3 NICs :<br><br>1st NIC : ADSL modem, standard settings. Share internet connection. done. try to online with it. can work, settle.<br>make sure you share it to the "LOCAL AREA CONNECTION 2" which is connected to your the other system.<br><br>2nd and 3rd NICs : Bridge them up in WinXP by selecting both of them adn right click and bridge connection. if you got only one NIC. leave it alone. Don't bridge it. <br><br>IP address :192.168.0.1 <br>Gateway : 192.168.0.1<br>DNS : 192.168.0.1<br>Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0<br><br>2nd System connecting to the server.<br>IP address : 192.168.0.2<br>Gateway : 192.168.0.1<br>DNS : 192.168.0.1<br>Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0<br><br>after setting up. Try to ping the server at 192.168.0.1. got raspond ? settle.... try to ping out now... 202.188.0.133. <br><br>P.S remmember to disable the Norton Firewall or any other equivalent Firewall program. if you can get out this way, then you only try to on the firewall, and fix the problem from there. for Norton users, use the wizzard.<br><br>Cheer~]]></description>

ICS is turned on. In the second machine, the streamyx connection shows up in network connections  - so everything is fine. But I cannot access any webpages from that machine. Of course I have no problem accessing the net with the first machine. Is there something else I need to do? Configure IE or something?]]></description>

Please upgrade your Wingate to ver 5.02.<br><br>You need to know the static IP address of your modem, if it is not Hase 220.<br><br>In your Network Properties of the PC that has two NICs, configure the following on the NIC that connected to the ADSL modem :<br><br>IP Address : 10.0.0.2<br>Subnet Mask : 255.0.0.0<br>Default Gateway : 10.0.0.1<br><br>Reinstall Wingate after you have configured the above, this is to effect the changes made in your Network Properties so that Wingate will be able to capture the changes.<br><br>Please remember that the above configuration is only for Hase 220. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[teh posted : hub is dumb meaning it don't have intelligent ;)<br>switch is average e.g. some of you use twisted & some don't rj45 the switch can use both while hub can only use 1 I believe.<br>router meanwhile is smarter as most of them you can set to auto dial up/firewall & packet filtering while both switch and hub doesn't support this feature. <description><![CDATA[AhB posted : hahaha :P i think im the smartest :P i got so many extra NIC cards, all using ISA slots :) hahah ....<br><br>i plug 3 of them into my old MMX 200 system, one for adsl, one for my system and the other to my father's comp. install WinXP, bridge 2 of the NICs up, install raspppoe, <br>share the connection, and wahlah ~ you can online on all 3 comps .... but i don't use the server to surf tho.... but i use it to host my own webpages in no-ip.com and streaming online music thru it. want to listen to mp3s ? sure! wait till i get back my modem.... its with the aztech fellos now... i accidently flush it...and its screwed....<br><br>no more cheering~]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[teh posted : ICS isn't the main problem the main problem is if you have a bloody firewall turn on just like me when I first started home networking. I am using Norton Internet Security which I need to add trusted ips of my 2 pcs 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2 & 127.0.0.1(this one must be add if you do frequent security tests or yer pc won't get on the net because bloody norton IS banned cause it thinks its under attack bah!).<br><br>I had a heck of the time trying to find the problem until I remember the firewall, pc 1(Norton IS) can ping pc 2 but pc 2 can't ping pc 1. Of cause peer-to-peer means you also must set several drives to be shared or you won't get the files.]]></description>

Anyway switch is ok I got a 5 port CNet for around rm120.<br><br>Peer to peer is easy after you screw up few times ;) trust me I know. you need same ip subnet(192.168.0.XXX) and same workgroup, well basically anyway.]]></description>
