Yes, but so many motherboards say they only support PC2700 and 333mhz speeds so putting PC3700 would be a waste of money.

Technically, there is no chipset that supports PC3700. CPU's are the limiting factor.

Reason why some people buy higher rated DDR than what their chipset supports, is for overclocking-headroom ( dur ). With quality DDR, you'll hit the max quicker, with higher rated DDR.

Again, this is of course, if you are into overclocking. I don't really see any benefit for higher-rated ddr, than what your chipset can support, for people who are not overclocking. Maybe the sense of having something new, and not being left in the past.

What I do see is Dual Channel chipsets. Which can increase memory bandwidth without having to use very high-rated DDR.

Things become more efficient that way. Maybe there will be a day when DDR 3700 is supported, but I don't see it anytime soon, DDRII will probably be the next chipset feature.

So essentially a motherboard supporting 333mhz DDR speeds it the best I can hope for and for me to get any ram higher than that would only benefit in the overclocking?

Athlon MP CPUs are essentially the same as Athlon XP CPUs. At one point there was a "bridge trick" that would allow you to convert an XP to an MP by shorting one of the bridges (L5 if memory serves).

The only chipset(s) that support dual MP processors are the AMD 76x - and they only support 'standard' bus speeds and therefor, PC2100 DDR memory. Most of them have very little in the way of BIOS options for overclocking.

What you're looking for currently does not exist.
