Comcast XFINITY → Are there any plans to get rid of the cap?

I want to get Comcast Cable because of the faster download speeds. I am on Verizon DSL 768/128 at the moment, and because of distance restrictions, I am maxed out as far as speed goes, and Verizon won't even consider provisioning me to the higher 1.5 down upgrade. I do a lot of downloading off of the Newsgroups, and Verizon has no caps on their Newsgroups, which I understand Comcast limits you to 1 gig a month. Is there any plans that anybody knows of here to lift those caps off of Comcast's Newsgroups in the near future? I know I can subscribe to a third party Newsgroup service, but I think that Comcast is a bit expensive now as it is, and I don't feel like shelling out another $15-$20 a month on top of my broadband price.

There are rumors that comcast might use the old attbi newsgroups. They have activated netnews.comcast.net already. It points to the same ip address as netnews.attbi.com. we should know on the 30th.
