Can you do a hard reset of the router? There should be a reset button in the back of the RP614. It should reset any settings back to default.
After you get the settings back to default, you could try using DrTCP to change the RWIN and MTU settings. Remember when using DrTCP to Save, Exit, and then Reboot your computer so that the settings take effect. |

thanks for your response.... i already tried that,i also did a hard reboot of the modem(sb5100)im wondering what could have happened...all was well till i updated my router firmware |

Are you sure you followed all the steps for upgrading your firmware? Was the firmware upgrade successful? Where did you download that firmware from? You have an RP614 Version 2, and you have to be careful that the firmware you flash is compatible with that version of the router. Firmware meant for the earlier version of the RP614 will not work with the newer one, and Netgear warns users to make sure they confirm the version before flashing. There have only been two firmware releases for the RP614v2, the default 5.01 and 5.13. You might want to see if you can revert back to the older version. This would be a good lesson to those people who think they should always flash new firmware. Only upgrade the firmware if there is a specific bug fix needed or a new feature that you intend to use. |

Do you have a VPN installed? Certain VPN's lower the MTU. |

» www.netgear.com/support/ ··· ldID=361I don't know whether you can downgrade firmware with that router, but here is the link for the original firmware version. You can give it a shot, or try posting in the Netgear forum for other suggestions as to what to do. |

Make sure it is not set for PPPoE. According to posts in the Netgear forum, a 1440 MTU is a problem when the router is set for PPPoE but not when it is set for a normall connection. |

ty ill go check it now |

Just run through the Settings Wizard again and let it detect your connection settings automatically. This is the link to the RP614v2 manual. Just follow it step-by-step. The router should be able to tell that you are using a normal DHCP connection, and not PPPoE. » ftp:// downloads.netgear.com/fi ··· nual.pdf |

Have you tried flashing the router with the older firmware yet? That may be your only option at this point. |

Your best bet at this point is to try the Netgear forum for any possible solutions, or contact Tech Support at Netgear to discuss this issue. This isn't an OOL issue, and it seems like TWG and I covered pretty much all the bases that we could think of.

Darn it! My new RP614v2 came with 5.11 firmware, and the MTU is stuck at 1440! Unbelievable. My speed is fantastic though (9400+), should I be worried? |

Please stick to your own thread, Flavius. It's easier to keep track of things that way. Take a look at my response there. |

Please don't lecture me on where to post. Judging by your join date and stars, I should be the one lecturing you. |
|

No lecture, just a suggestion to keep things orderly on the forum. Seeing as how this thread is over a month old, and you had already complained about the problem in your own thread, it would have made sense to keep any questions about it there. Of course, you would know better than I do about that, being that you have been a member here so much longer than I have and have a few shiny icons below your name. |

From that post, it doesn't even seem like you deserve those stars. What does somebody's join date or "stars" have to do with their knowledge of a BBS? Apparently Rainbows knows more about it then you. And rainbows has been around here a lot longer than you think as a lurker. |

Flavius: Check the Netgear support forum, and see if this bug has already been reported... If not, please post a bug report there, so they can (hopefully) fix it in the next F/W release. Cheers! - Tursiops_G. |
