Closing the door on the RIAA → RIAA Must Be Stopped!

This thing has to be won in the court system some how!! These SOB's have to be stopped before they start exploiting us any further. I mean, if they have allowed cassette recorders and VCR's to be sold how can they come after ANYONE for downloading music over the net! It is BULLSH_T!
People have been recording other peoples movies and music for years! How can they stop it now? LEGALLY! How can they legitimize VCR's and cassette recorders w/o including the internet! SORRY, it goes hand in hand!

THEY didn't "allow" VCR recordings, cassette recordings or anything of the like. RIAA and the rest like them tried to shoot down VCRs and cassette recorders. They lost (somewhat... they get kickbacks from blanks sold, same with blank Audio CDRs) and free market won. This is a little different...

AMEN. RIAA must be stopped. Now what are you going to do to stop it, other than hope it will be handled "in the courts somehow?"

May I respectfully suggest... Vote?

Vote for someone, vote against someone, vote for anyone, and if you don't like anyone, write the town's dog-catcher in, as long as you vote. It's free, and it's easier than coming up with reasons not to vote. It may not do much, but then neither does venting.

I've read a LOT of blow-off posts here that more or less say 'fuck riaa'.. . Its about the mentality I should expect in an anarchist enviornment.

I Think Riaa is an orginazation of 'Capitolistic Nazis'. I have no respect for their orginization.. I'm loosing respect for consumers as a whole as well.

Today I actually had to speak with a customer who was reading these here message boards and became concerned. They had a 15yr old child and found Kazaa installed on their family PC.

They decided to call tech-support to see if Kazaa was some form of illegal software and what the penalties were.

I'm glad this site promotes freedom of speech, and I'm glad they allow consumers to rant and rave on just about any topic they want.. the sad downside of it it, concerned parents whom wish to be ionvolved with their children now have to dedicate their time to following a rant quarry from a Nazi Orginization and a bunch of Militant-Minded-Anarchists.

Personally , I think Both sides of this debate need to clean their houses and move to a respectable playing field.
Someone posts that Murder and Terrorism towards other people is acceptable? If it was THEIR family I bet they would feel different.

No reguard for humanity has now become acceptable?

Folks wonder why we have a lot of stupid laws...

It's bad enough they are 'supposedly' robbing copywritten material, forget the Judicial system, bypass it and just start Wakkin these people..
