Anyone been called by the AUP latelyHas anyone been called by Shaw's AUP in th last few months. Since Shaw laid off most of the AUP I have not been contacted/cutoff . I am doing 30-35 gigs a months. If you have been contacted, how much have you done? How much have you done without being contacted. |

haven't been contacted --- i have been working my way up though, last week i did 15.5 combined (15 down 500 up), i have to admit - i was sweating by the end of the month!
no, actually i haven't heard of any other users being contacted either...
anyone want to send shaw AUP or support and email and ask what their position is/how much we can use safely?
mind you, i have noticed BIG slowdowns in the last few months, weeks hovering at half a megabit peak and just over a megabit off peak.. |

Some one told me that they are only going after people doing more the 30 Gigs combined, or more then 10 gigs up. |

Already hijacked! Actually, service is just fine. Stable 1050/330 service 24/7. Lower pings too. Only issue is that my router (SMC 7004VBR doesn't get along with it as well as it did with cable, but it's generally fine. |

I was asked/told to cut my usage a month or two ago by shaw. I was told that 30g a month was what they expected from me. I was under the impression they advertised "ulimited" but i guess not. |

I got called after the AUP changes. Basically now with the 50Gb combined business package, they're not "suggesting" caps like they did before, it's under 30Gb for personal use. Above that, and it's pay for business class or be cut off. Not exactly the "world without limits" they promised me when I signed up. I now live in the Telus forums.  |

On my first month (june 2003) i was new to shaw and tought it was unlimited, yeah they called me because i downloaded 155 gigs in my month... so i transferred to a business package with its 50 gigs...
BTW, what if i exceed a couple of gigs with my new 50 gigs limit?

One warning in April or May, then I got cut off 3 weeks ago just like that. They refused to reconnect me insisting on 7 days suspension. I told them to kiss my ass goodbye. Can we sue them for false advertising? What's unlimited high speed internet? I am using Telus's dial up now. Telus do not have ADSL in my area until Feb 2004! |

sue them for false advertising.. good luck, in thier AUP, they give you a hint of what they think about us and our pesky laws!

I haven't quite managed 155 gigs in one month on my telus dsl account, but I have done 120 down, and 120 up in one month without any problems. |
