Re: News server and contractIt will renew for another year. It depends on what you originally signed up for. If you signed a month-to-month it auto-renews each month. If you signed a one year it will renew for another year. It all depends what your service order has. Just take a look at the first page you signed.

Is there any way to change it to month to month after the first year commitment?
Or conversely is there a penalty for bailing on the second year contract?
I sort of assumed the first year was mainly to be sure you got your setup fees recouped.
I don't mind the first year, but things do change, (have to move, etc) and years are big chunks of time to commit to. |

Well thats nice, but I'd feel better if it were stated POLICY, rather than a "in a crunch" negotiation As you bill monthly any way I would think you would roll over to a month to month contract anyway after the first year commitment. Now if an annual contract DISCOUNT was involved that would be a different situation (but no more than loosing the discount value for the active months retroactive to anniversary). |

Quoting your Herald profile... quote: He enjoys the flexibility of calling the shots. ''We can adapt quickly to what the marketplace is calling for,'' he says.
This would be one of those opportunities... certainly would make your existing and post first year commitment customers more comfortable, rather than MAYBE when it becomes an issue, we can work something out... but could perfectly LEGALLY screw them for the 1 year renewal commitment. (not saying you necessarily would) |

I agree. Let's make a policy change here Alex. I never intend to cancel. Your service is too good. Anyone that reads this please know I love netrox. I just feel that this should be standard process. I knew when I was signed up I was committed for a year, but I did not know then after that year I would be automatically renewed if I did not cancel. Just think about it....I wasn't aware of this till I read that on these boards. I feel it's only fair. Most other contracts - cell, satellite don't auto renew. |

Alex must be thinking. Normally he writes back in a day. This is a big thing to consider though, such a major change. |

If you need to get out message me in the meantime I am working to see what can be done.

No, I definitly don't want out. Just like to know that after my year is up that it is possible. I would never leave because of service or speed...just if things change in my life. I appreciate the help. |
