matrixhasyou posted : Hey there. I quit ReliaNet yesterday. I'm now with A T & T Cable and enjoying 3-3.8MB bandwidth now (400-400k/second download speeds) - it's wonderful - better than wireless at it's best when I signed up a year ago. I'm going to sell my equipment on EBAY.

matrixhasyou posted : Well I just sent ReliaNet an e-mail asking them about when they expect improve their bandwidth given my wireless connection has dropped down to an average 300-400K sometimes. Hopefully I hear back soon, because I'm seriously considering switching to A T & T cable internet, because a neighbor of mine three doors up gets 2-3Mbs downloads. Wow - I'm jealous. The wireless satellite is capable of 5Mbs up/5Mbs down if they could get even a fractional DS3 that would support that amount of bandwidth to the internet. I'm frustrated.

matrixhasyou posted : Thanks for your comment. Hear hear! I had forgotten about the net arrow and blue ice customers. They really need to get going on the increased bandwidth due to increased (dramatic) customer base.

anon posted : I will agree the techs have been great. I went to school with a few of them and they are great. The problem goes beyond Napster and people setting up home servers. People have flocked to the service and are still flocking to the service. So until the new servers and ds3 line we will have DSL performance at a premium price. You will notice connection speeds have been removed from the home page. I sold a number of my friends on changing there dial ups to relia and since they have picked up net arrow and blue ice the have as much fun connecting as people did to AOL a few years ago. So at the momment I will say it is not the finest of experiences but I will post as soon as they rectify the situation.

matrixhasyou posted : I have ReliaNET Wireless as well. I spoke with them at length about the decreasing speeds, and they told me that the main culprit had been with Napster and the excessive downloads from wireless users taking up a lot of bandwidth from the T1 line (which we all share) and thus affecting the speeds for everyone. They are looking at connecting onto a DS3 soon which will increase the bandwidth to 3Mbs instead of just 1.5Mbs, but that could be a few months. I personally am looking forward to that, and they have re-affirmed their committment to make it faster for us not slower. They also said if the Napster usage didn't taper down, they might limit the use of Napster on their servers, which personally I wish Napster would just go away - you can't get much there now anyway with the court orders in place. I say hang on - they're worth it - their some of the best around in service, in my opinion.

anon posted : For the price which is pretty steep my service has been dropping off a lot. My original speeds were 1.5 mb to 2 mb but over the last month or so I can only get DSL speeds out of the connection 555K. Appears that they are a little over loaded and it's not getting better.
