AT&T Midwest → Anyone else experiencing speed flactuations?

This is somewhat weird to me. I know I am bugging you with too many questions and always some problem but, past few days I noticed some serious speed flactuations with my DSL. I know SBC is doing upgrades and all, so I am being patient and understanding, after all its for our good . Anyway, here is speed test results I did just now:

2003-11-01 01:11:50 EST: 119 / 105
Your download speed : 119374 bps, or 119 kbps.
A 14.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 105097 bps, or 105 kbps.
Your connection hardly qualified as broadband, at least in that test

I have 1544/128 package and when it was first upgraded I got like 1.2 - 1.3 mbps down. I know there is ramp up period for this thing so Im just wondering is it only me or are there others experiencing same thing? Drops from 1.5 to like 100kbps and drops to even 23kbps? If no then I have to bug representatives again and I really hate bugging people :-\

Give it till Monday and if the speeds are still there then IM one of the techs.

Also try power cycling your modem.

yeah I'll just wait for them to finish what they're doing. I see speed go back to normal now and then, just was wondering if this was normal. Thanks for reply though

From what people are reporting that is normal for people going to get the upgrade.

Also try using the SBC Speed test site link is at the top of the forum.

Are these upgrades only being performed during the weekends? I ask because my brother just got SBC/DSL on Monday and he has had speed fluctuations all week. He even posted about the speed fluctuations yesterday. But neither Beatmeup or RadioDoc said anything about the upgrades causing that to happen.

My brother also lives in Chicago near Midway airport so I was wondering if this was affecting everyone connected to the Chicago redback, or maybe those connected to the CHCGILPM CO?

No they don't necessarily happen during weekends.

The reason they didn't say anything is first time DSL users need to tweak there PC's for DSL.

Your brother should follow the directions given. Especially not using connection manager!!!

This was the same advice I gave him before he posted, and I believe that he is going to uninstall SBC Connection manager and tweak the PC today. I was just wondering if the upgrades are occuring only during the weekends or are they occuring overnight during the week?
