Major slow down here in Delaware.

Well my download speeds this weekend just crapped out. For the last 2 weeks I was getting the new speeds with out a problem. Now this is what I'm getting.

2003-11-23 10:41:23 EST: 1233 / 245
Your download speed : 1233385 bps, or 1233 kbps.
A 150.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 245670 bps, or 245 kbps

Yes I did reboot my modem twice and this is what is happening. What the hell Comcast?

I noticed Northeast Philly was having the same issue. But my speed are way lower when I did have the old speeds. I was getting around 1650-1700 down.

Anyone else in Delaware getting the same slow down?

My signals are fine. But, here they are anyway.

Frequency 723000000 Hz Locked
Signal to Noise Ratio 35 dB
Power Level -6 dBmV

Upstream Value
Channel ID 2
Frequency 31000000 Hz Ranged

Power Level 51 dBmV

Here you go. Pings are fine just the down load crapped out. Might be related to the other thread topic in Northeast Philly. We are in the same market. PA West.

Any other idea's Big D?

Re: Major slow down here in Delaware.

hmmmm...any chance you can get docsdiag working for you to check what your download cap is?
I'm thinking your speeds are right in range if your on a 1800 cap without traffic shaping. Might want to fire up NetPerSec and see if you still have traffic shaping on. (I'm assuming you used to have it given your old speeds you posted).

Well I finally got my old speed back but that was directly connecting my pc to my modem. So I know it's not Comcast. Anyway, i rebooted my network and I'm still getting these crappy speeds. I figured it was my router. So I downloaded the latest firmware. I have a linksys 4 port router BEFSR41. Rebooted the network again. My download is getting about 125 KBps now. It's worse now.

Has anyone ever have a problem like this with there router?

I might just have to pick up another router. It's only 1 1/2 years old.

You might want to do a hard reset (restore to factory defaults) on that router before purchasing another. Occasionally that will save a failing router from plastic heaven.

Tried the factory reset and no dice. This has really stumped me.

Anychance you are using a bad cat-5 cable when you add the router to the mix?

BluesCast, unless your speed problems are a result of a bad router like 99664227 's are, you should start a new thread so you don't hijack this one.

Big D I finally got back from Best Buy and fired up the new linky. Getting my old speeds 390KBps down and 245kbps up. Man, it was weird that my router crapped out like that.

Anyway it was equipment failure not Comcast.
