agreed. Even if people don't listen to me and buy a brand name, I strongly urge them to re-install with a retail version of the OS to get rid of all that crap that comes pre-installed with the new pc.

Yep. Exactly what I've done with ALL my machines the same day I brought them home. Have also built a couple of my own. No wonder computers have to come loaded with and need so much memory now a days. It's all necessary just to get the dang thing to startup with all the pre-installed crap!
