Fat Tire Beer in Chicago? Has anyone ever saw it for sale in chicago? I checked Sam's Wines but no dice. I figured if they don't have it no one does.
Anyone know if they sell it in St Louis? I can make a road trip since i get down there frequently.

I'm going to be in Montana for a few days over the holidays. I'll be sure to have one for you I've looked and haven't found it many places. There's a Binny's on Lincoln just south of Addison that used to order some for me. |

Yes i have.
In fact i've used the following search terms to no avail.
Fat Tire Beer Chicago
Fat tire beer distribution -> only say they distribute as far west as MO -- However I thought someone in chicago might import it in special
Fat tire beer availability chicago
No one lists any places that carry it.
Thanks for the tip of google though. Not like they're the biggest search company on the internet.

From what I can find you can't find this stuff in IL, but they do have it in St. Louis. That's of course, if i have the right beer. I was kinda surprised Binny's didn't carry it Now I really want to try one, 600 calories be damned |

I assumed you did, That wasn't what I was suggesting. I was referring to all of the adult stuff that came up when I searched "Fat Tire Beer" hence the Here's a place you can buy it onlineYou may also check Cork and Kerry 10614 S Western Ave 773-445-2675 Their name came up in a few searches too. |

I know that Sam's Wine is more "wine" based than beer, but they always had a very good selection, at the same or better level than Binny's. The plus to the Sam's I frequent is the Goose Island across the street! Makes it a hard trip to avoid 2-3 beers. |

Katacomb Bar has it for sale by the bottle (on Lincoln between Armitage and Wells. My girlfriend is from CO. and she loves it, we stop there once in a while to get one. We haven't had any luck finding it at a retail store yet. I know for sure that Binny's and Sam's does not carry it. |

Yeah, I just looked into Sam's and Binny's and you are correct. I got a high school buddy who brings some over when he comes back home to visit from CO. It is very good stuff. |

I brought a case back from my ski trip to Colorado last week.
I would have loved to have brought more except my carryon was already overloaded!
I'll be in STL in a month or so.. I plan on loading up when I'm down there and trucking it back to Chicago.
Sure wish they would expand distribution to Chicago!

I wish I knew where to get some. All of my friends that lived in Colorado moved back to Illinois, so no Fat Tire for me anymore. |
|
| |
Having lived in Colorado before I too miss fat tire, but a little pizza place in Lincoln Park has bottles of it for $5. It's called Bricks and I believe it's on Lincoln.
Also clowny did you grow up in Crystal Lake? That's were I'm from. |

Hey jackstrw21! I'm originally from Chicago, but my parents moved me to Cary when I was 12. For the most part i've lived in Cary/C.L since then. I just bought my first home in C.L. so I don't plan on moving for a long time. To get back on topic, any one have an idea where to find Fat Tire beer in the northern suburbs? |

Not a month before we moved away from California, they started to carry Fat Tire in the grocery store. Ugh!
My father-in-law has a relation who owns a liquor store. We're going to give him a call and ask him if he can order some cases of Fat Tire. We need to give him a count, so from the number of unique replies on this topic, does 12 cases sound sufficient? |

Hey, was out in CO over december and ran into a New Belgium brewery promo girl. I asked her about this since Im from Chi and go to school in iowa. She said they have a comprehensive plan to spread the distribution of their beers. currently they are the onyl true distributor and they are working on setting up some to get their beers further east. She said they are well aware of the demand in Chi and similar towns, and that they have intent in their two-three year plan to get it out to us! Thats the word straight form an employee, so keep your fingers crossed and hopefulyl it will reach us sooner rather than later. |

It's occurred to me that the boys are thirsty in Atlanta, and there's beer in Texarcana. I say we bring it back... no matter what it takes. |

Just wanted to let everyone know that I was at the New Belgium Brewery in Ft. Collins Co. The greatest beer on earth is Fat Tire. They told me that they are considered a regional brew and only ship to the western states to keep the highest quality and freshness of the beer. It needs to be constantly cool (lack of preservatives) and it is expensive to distribute too far. So, in order to get the good stuff... Road Trip! |

I empathise with everyone here. Having moved from MO, where I could get it on a whim, to Chicago, were I'll be damned if I can find a bottle, has been rough. Top it all off with the fact that my Father lives in MT and is constantly asking me if I've found any Fat Tire yet and you have my own little beer hell. I would greatly appreciate any address anyone might have for any establishment that sells it. If this doesn't work I'm going to be asking the old man to ship me some every once in a while. He owes me a few anyways. |

To everyone who was wondering about Fat Tire in some recent posts, rejoice! I've found it, and though it is at a bar rather than at a liquor store, beggars cannae be choosers, no?
Bricks at 1909 N. Lincoln has Fat Tire. It's a bit steep at 5 bucks a bottle, but on Thursday they have it for 3 bucks a bottle. Not bad, at least until we can find it in sixers locally! |
