Telecommuter package in Ohio, Dayton?Anyone have experience? Just wondering if the extra 20 bucks was worth getting the Telecommuter package over the standard service.
I'm taking a guess that it is not any faster than the standard cable access. It says that its 50 times faster than dialup, same thing that they state for the regular setup.
So far I've been happy with the whole process of finding out about it. I've spoken with one rep so far and they've done everything they stated they would. Even sent me an email with a spreadsheet listing the prices/speed of all of the buisness class connections and a pdf of all of the packages they offer. |

If you are referring to the Teleworker package, then yes there are a few of us around that have it. Yes the speeds are the same as regular residential service. But you also get an extra dynamic ip.

Doesn't the Teleworker package get 512 upload? If so, then in it not the same as residential. At least not yet (fingers crossed). |

Yeah, sorry, thats what I ment.
I guess the second IP would be worth it, plus the support. I may go with that package. |

Yes, the contract is 1 year, well, maybe not a contract, don't remember...
I pay 69.95 for 4000 / 512.
Several other users here report the same speeds.
I expect my upload to go up too when residential users get 512 standard, if they go standard. |

That is a nice wish Freeze. I seriously doubt your will go up. You'll in essence be paying the extra $$$ for the extra IP when that time comes. |

The package is set for 3 megs down 512 k up. Residential is 384 k up and there are no plans to raise it at this time. |

Hmm, that's strange, oh well...
I just did a test one day and it started to stay @ 3700, and I IMed a few others in my area with Tele and they reported the same speeds.
I must be lucky; or perhaps I'm getting compensation for the bad ping times. |

I just got off the phone with them and you only get 1 ip and 3000down 512/up, the lady actually asked me that if I knew someone that was getting different to turn them in because it was stealing cable I just laughed. She said well sir it is not a laughing matter it is a serious offense I just explained to her that I have no clue of who these people are there was just talk about it on the net. She then told me she could transfer me to some number and I could report it anonymously I told her AGAIN I do not know any of these folks and I only wanted to check to make sure that I was getting what I was suppose to. |

Hmm, that doesn't sound charming... at all. I probably AM capped at 3000, but just get good speeds regardless. Let's leave it at that. Yes, it is only 1 IP I believe. Btw, never ever mention DSLReports in a phone call with your ISP... |

Another clueless phone drone.... Call her back and tell her the guy's name is "freeze" and he lives in Springfield. I'm sure they can track him down with that extremely detailed info. |

Hmmm, why not? I know it's not likely to change anything, but at the same time it's also not exactly a well-kept underground secret. |

It depends I think, some of them get TICKED, you know, they might think
"oh some n00b just found a site and think they know everything."
Just my thoughts... |

Whenever I mention DSLR to the rep, I tell them that this guy Freeze from Dayton told that the people there know more than the ISP's engineers. |

haha, that is harsh. How is it a serious offence when someone on their side messed up? Thats like saying that its steeling if somehow 2 pizza's end up in a pizza box instead of one. I wonder if Domino's has an anonymous tip line for that |

Even my modem thinks I should have two. |
Well the guy I talked to from road runner business class when I signed my contract said two dynamic ips, and I am currently using them both. So either I am a fluke or people just don't know down there. |

I dunno. Maybe they changed it. The sheet that I have says that it includes a static ip. |

You definately do not get a static ip, those are 49.99 a month |
