Re: Golden problems tonight?

I dunno if this would work or not. According to my knowledge Golden has 4 DHCP servers (speede01-speede04), where each hold a range of IP addresses. Luckily, Golden does allow us to change our IP manually to the one we want (as long as it's not taken yet). Speede04 seem to have IP range from 216.75.161.10 to 216.75.161.30

If those guys who are on speed01 feeling nice enough, can you guys post your IP range. So we can manually change our IP into those IP range in speede01, and hopefully it will work

I think this IP is not with speede04 216.75.179.211 but no matter how I tried, they still resolve me back to speede04, please post if you can find a way to bypass speede04 good luck.

BTW that I was using that IP during August and it is with speede02.

I just called tech support and they said there is nothing I could do since the server was assigned by your location?! Which I think is horse or bull whatever.

anyway, he told me to call back Monday and the system manager may be able to do something...hint hint...we may be put into speede04 on purpose?!

I've also did some testing, I think they throttle many ports on the speede04 server except web browsing. I tried to download an ATI driver (15MB) via website and it was downloading at about 1 mbits but news server is really slow even when I use my 3rd party news server (unable to download headers due to ultra slow speed)
