Why would you want 55 processes running? Seems unnecessary and messy to me.
I don't "want" 55 processes running. That is, I don't have a target number of proccesses that I shoot for; I simply run want I want and need to, including two instances of Apache (a web server). I have my Windows services pared down to what I really need. The rest is stuff I want running. She's a clean beast.

I misunderstood. Obviously with a server running, etc. you'd have more services running than I would. As long as what is running is what you need and want that's what matters.
