Yeah i recieved that notice too...too bad they're not giving us any extra channels... so what ARE they giving us?!
The price increase from last year is one incentives I had for finally cancelling my Telmax cable (the others being the poor quality reception and lousy selection). I also did it out of spite, after the digesting treatment I got from their customer service reps when I was an Internet subscriber.

It definitely is bs, they're raising rates to make up for lost subscribers.

I felt it was throwing out money... $85 every two months, for something I rarely use. I hooked up an indoor amplified antenna and get all the local stuff (CTV, CBC, Global, CH) and a bunch of US stations (ABC, FOX, both PBS, PAX, UPN). Pour ceux qui ne regardent pas de sports, le SuperBowl est un événement pour les publicités à 2.4 Million$ pour un spot de 30 secondes. Mais au Canada, on est pogné avec la substitution des canaux où Global vont nous présenter, quoi, des publicités sur les couches pour bébés, des produits de beauté pour femmes (c'est pas les gars qui regardent le match?) pis d'autres publicités en bas de 100$ la diffusion et la promotion de leurs comédies à marde pour nous rire en pleine figure en disant "Global's got it". Ils l'ont pas pantoute ces ostie de fatiquants-là. Quand je les ai appelé, je voulais renouvelé mon contract (un neuf d'un ans) d'internet via le spécial dédié aux supposés nouveaux clients.

Ca comprenais les 3-4 premiers mois à rabais pi le modem cable gratos (ou quasit gratos) si je me rapelle.
Je leur ai dit, moi, je vous prend 1 ans avec ce spécial (3-4 mois gratos) mais ne prend po le modem. Y'ont meme po voulu ..
Y disent qu'il me faut payer le plein prix absolument.

Résultat : Je n'ai PAS renouveler mon contrat et il s'acheve tres bientot.

Eye, j'ai TOUT (internet, télé num. avec superécran et full poste) chez eux et y sont meme po foutu de me faire un rabais ..

Par canaux digitaux, je fais référence aux 40+ canaux qui la plupart ont été débuté leur opérations au début du mois de septembre 2001 (environ le 7 sept), mais Vidéotron ont attendu jusqu'au 28 septembre pour les offrir, juste parce qu'ils voulaient faire une promotion "Illico s'en vient" pendant 3 semaines. La liste des canaux se trouve au www.newtvchannels.com . Voyez qu'il manque des services non-offerts par Vidéotron, dont les chaînes musicales MuchLoud, MuchVibe, BPM:TV, MTV-2, CoolTV (Jazz), et Galaxie comprend 45 canaux maintenant, sans oublier le maintenant-défunt EdgeTV. Et il manque aussi Discovery Kids et Silver Screen Classics.

Le service de promotion est pourri, qui se concentre seulement à attirer de nouveaux clients. Ah oui, le crédit de programmation comprend le package Télémax pour 3 ou 6 mois, mais aucune chaîne digitale n'est incluse.

Vidéotron ALWAYS have to find ways to find bogus reasons to raise prices somewhere somehow. Lamers.

I received a notice that Vidéotron is introducing a "monthly network charge of $2.99 to all its digital TV subscribers as of March 1st, 2004", then they go on with the same bull**** about being competitive with best price/quality... when they offer only 1/3 of what's being offered by satellite services.

Network charge? Last time I heard about such bogus fees was when Bell brainwashed the CRTC into adding 3$ fees for network access on long distance service, regardless if you make long distance calls or not.

And last time I paid so much bogus fees was when I went to CEGEP, had to pay the "rights", where there was a fee for the college's fundation crap on a volunteer basis, but you have to pay it entirely or you can't study there (hello Ahuntsic college!)

And what is taking SO LONG for VDN to offer their digital cable service anyways? (go to vdn's website, about, then history, scroll down, you'll see what I mean). I'm STUCK with Vidéotron, as I can't have satellite services and I'm a big supporter of the new digital channels.

French: Pour quossé faire que c't'ostie de compagnie à marde-là sont obligés de nous surcharger avec des calisse de raisons de BS pour se faire plus de cash et se calisse totalement de leurs "loyaux" clients.

Soyons réaliste. Pourquoi j'irais payer 5$ pour un vidéo sur demande quand je peux commander sur Indigo pour 4$ pis l'enregistrer sur mon VCR? Pourquoi Vidéotron ne font AUCUN effort pour faire la promotion des canaux digitals existants et n'en semble pas intéressé lorsque des compagnies québécoises ont offert des canaux mais ont repoussé leurs plans, par manque d'auditoire. Pourquoi Vidéotron ajoute des frais de trou de cul lorsqu'ils pourraient "en donner pour mon argent"?
