WAN to LAN bridge speed.

Does anybody know the bridge speed between the wan link and the lan side of the more common Netgear routers. The RP614v2, FM114P, and any others? Our company is wanting to sell 10mb burstable Internet and we believe our bottleneck is the WAN/LAN bridge. Thanks for any help.

All FX114X family got 10mb WAN to LAN speed. If you have full 10 mb speed you definitely need something faster. FWG114P got about 60mb or may be just go and buy PIX from cisco, it will be at least 95mb.

A PIX will work we know, but we are trying to keep the price of the CPE down as low as possible. And we all know Cisco is synonymous with high prices. A plain-jane broadband router w/ 4-port switch with a 10mb+ WAN to LAN speed is all we are after.

There is a long thread from another ISP/VAR regarding the FVS318. Because of problems he ended up returning all the FVS318 and going for a more expensive brand. There is another thread from a VAR that failed to make the FVS318 work in a VOIP environment and at the end giving up on the routers.

My point is: If your company wants to save a few bucks in a product that is not suitable for the task then you better be prepared for spending time, money and for the possibility of replacing the original product with a better match.

Who do you think your customers will call when they have problems... Netgear, You?
