Software → [AIM] AIM 5.5.3572 constantly reconnecting?

I have a Netgear MR814v2 w/ latest firmware and the stated AIM version. About once an hour, AIM will lose its connection and reconnect. I confirm this by the "AOL System" messages I get stating that "You are signed in at X locations". I have also confirmed that the new sign-on is the computer/router in question every time. Does anyone else experience this with this version or is most likely a hardware/router problem?

I have the same router and have seen the aim "You are signed in at X locations" messages too. I have Verizon DSL (PPPoE), and my theory is that the router is renewing the IP address after a period of idle time. I think the default setting is to renew after 5 mins idle. Even though aim is connected, you could still be "idle" (not sending data) for that period of time. Does netgear consider you idle when you have open connections but are not sending data? I don't use aim that much so I haven't tried to debug it any further.

Well, it isn't often that I'm not sending data of some sort, so I doubt its "timing out". I've also set this PC (its wired) to a static ip w/o much luck either. I'm basically at a complete loss.
