Re: [Info] DI-624 and bittorrent not working

Also, is this the only setting you did to get bittorrent to work, or is this in combination with the d-link suggested settings on the firewall page?

Firewall and virtual server are basically the same thing. If you notice anything you do in the virtual server shows up in the firewall settings.

This was the only thing I changed.
I haven't even looked at what dlink suggests.

Ok I'm home now and I tried what you suggested, I get nothing. Using linux w/ azureus and the torrent shows 0 seeders, 0 peers and ETA of infinit...i'm about ready to send this router back, god.

OK apparently it IS working, but something very strange. I can only get one torrent at a time, even though i've added 6882 to the virtual server list. A 2nd torrent will say the tracker is offline, however if i stop the 1st torrent the 2nd will start and the tracker will suddenly be online...what the hell?

Well apparently it's working now, I opened a few more ports and changed 1 setting in my bittorrent client to the max upload speed of 50k/s and now for some reason i can connect to more than 1 torrent and the speed seems to be ok...i guess its working alright, apart from the random IM disconnections...which is freakin annoying...better than i was this morning though.

Find the reason for disconnections.
Many people have problem with the router rebooting when a cordlees 2.4GHz phone is in use or some bad packets on the WAN are send...

or it reboots by itself...

I get good speeds with only 1 port opened - 6881 and one port for my tracker - 6969

I have a cordless phone but its 900Mhz...so it isn't a problem. I don't know the reasons for disconnection, but I also noticed when I do run a torrent now it just stalls and stops after awhile...which is unusual.

Re: [Info] DI-624 & bittorrent & random disconnect

Ok I'm checking the logs on the router and apparently it keeps randomnly, but frequently disconnecting and reconnecting the pppoe link as well as resetting the system time and date back to april 1 2002. my torrent if any are going at the time get cut off and I have to manually stop and restart them, this is completely unacceptable. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
