Re: [video] Don't loot in IRAQ

Thanks for the support HDMAN.

I've had my boots on the ground here in Iraq since 15Apr2003 and it's very true that the soldiers of the U.S. Army have been tasked with the thankless job of policing post-war Iraq. I am not defending or condemning the actions of those 3ID tankers since I don't know the whole story of why they felt they needed to destroy that vehicle. I would like to think that there was a compelling reason for those tankers to have destroyed that vehicle and would give them the benefit of the doubt on that issue. On the base I am currently stationed, we employ hundreds if not thousands of Iraqis and local nationals on a daily basis, almost all of whom live off base and everyday there are soldiers tasked out to guard and escort them. Many times have we had to arrest and expell workers for stealing and looting on this base and I would bet money that there are some workers who try to gain employment on base for the sole purpose of intelligence gathering.
Anyway, I wasnt' trying to stir up any trouble, I just wish the video would have shown the entire confrontation and why the soldiers felt it necessary to crush that car.

Well said. Some people are quick to criticize but I'm sure they have no earthly idea of what it's like over there. I thank you for your service and thank these guys on this video for their service of my country as well.
