Not recieving all e-mails

This has gotten rather frustrating.

I generally receive all my e-mails when sent to me, almost instantaneously. Sending from Yahoo, my job, e-mails from eBay, PayPal...no problem getting to my account.

However, Verizon has been somehow dropping some of my e-mails. One for the signups at the Rush.com website to sign up to order tickets online. One for the account registration at PlayNC.com (i.e. support@plaync.com). And today was a bad one, information on a job interview I have next week. I'm glad I noticed that the problem was occurring before today, or I wouldn't of had the foresight to call the company back and have them resend the mail to my Yahoo account.

The e-mails are not being blocked by the SpamDetector, which I have set to send e-mails it blocks to the online SpamDetector folder in webmail.

I called tech support, and they weren't all that much help, just added the addresses to a "list". The last person I talked to said to try turning SpamDetector off completely. I tried it, then tried to resend the verification e-mail from support@plaync.com, and no dice, it never showed up.

Needless to say, I'm a bit concerned with using this address as my regular address now. Any ideas on what's going on with their servers?

Yup, I'm having problems with that as well, and not just with Verizon, but other email providers.

I think all major commercial email vendors are starting to block messages carte blanche, which is really annoying. They should be at least sending back bounces. Of course, with most automated systems, they have no way of telling you they couldn't send you mail, and received a bounce.

so annoying. All because of spam. gotta love it.

I dont' even use/check my Verizon e-mail anymore. I have a couple web sites (domains) I own and operate, and use all my mail with them. I don't even use the Verizon POP or SMTP servers.

All I did get was spam with it, so now it's not an issue.

Same problem here. I may also start using an e-mail address associated with my domain name rather than Verizon's one.

Two things you should check on email...netmail.verizon.net > options > block senders > ensure the domains you are not receiving emails from have not inadvertantly been blacklisted for your account.

Also, VZ is using "right side verifiication" to reduce spam...if your visit 'http://network-tools.com you can do an email validation test on the email address you are not receiving from...

If the validation test fails, no verizon customer is receiving emails from that domain until the domains admin changes their email server to reply to validation requests...

playnic.com does rightside verification as illustrated by 'http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=validate&Netnic=whois.arin.net&host=support@plaync.com

So by calling tech support and having them submit the domain for inclusion on the safe list you've done about all that can be done at this point...
