Not all RTs are DSL-capable. They may be planning on upgrading it, or are in the process of upgrading it. When you called SBC, they refused to move you to the RT?

The sale say there is DSL RT in my area so when I called to ask if i can be moved, they say no b/c I am not far out enough.

Not even if you want to upgrade to the Expert package? I find that pretty strange. You should call back and ask for the Expert Package. That's what I did and they immediate said they have to move me to the RT from the CO in order to do that. The only drawback is, you have to be on dial-up for 10 business days, but it is well worth it.
