<description><![CDATA[Tornado posted : Well, based on what I am reading here, unless BS decides to invest in a remote there is no way I would ever be able to get the 3mb.  I have done everything possible on my end and usually my max rate is around 2800/640 with high attenuation (58db) and low noise margins (14db).  I kind of doubt they would spend a lot of time/money to try and make my existing line better for a possible $5/month, if it could even be made better.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[hailinfantry posted : I was working outside today.  While I was outside, I decided I would replace all of my homerun wiring with category 3 UTP.  I replaced the run from the data side of the splitter:<br><br>55db Attenuation<br>15db S/N<br>Nothing Remarkable...<br><br>I had lunch.  I returned to replace the straight-through wire from the NID to the splitter.  Cut and dressed all of the wiring, completed my splices.  Cleaned up some minor oxidation on some of the posts and restripped some oxidized wiring.  New stats:<br><br>40.5db Attenuation<br>12db S/N<br><br>How could a little rewiring change my Attenuation by such a wide margin?  Likewise, why would my S/N drop?  I'll try to resynch.<br><br>I don't recall ever having below a 50 on any sync at the NID.]]></description>

The farther out you move that line in an attempt to get every last $5, the more trouble reports and complaints you get too, and they can more than offset the extra subscribers.
