anon posted : you talk about free. you don't think your going to get programing free do yeah. and you talk about the 4.99 charge for each reciver. well that is so they can mirror your programing other wise you can have an account for each reciver and pay a package price for each reciver. and with digital cable they charge you a fee for each digital reciver you want. and the equment is free of charge if your a new customer if you are a past customer and don't have the hardware you use to you will pay. i know this for a fact cause i use to be with a satelite company then went back to cable that sure was a big mistake then i went back with the satelite company and have been with em for 7 years and am glad i have been and still am with em. cause cable rates are threw the roof satelite is the better way to go. and i think a 1 year contract is fair. cause i am upgrading one of my satelite box's to a dvr for 99 all installed with a years contract. but i must say there are 2 small dish proveders when i started now there is 3 there is dtv dishnet and voom. i say go for dishnet there great

Rexter posted : Echostar is now producing multi-room receivers for Dish Network. I think that they are only offered to new subscribers under a lease program. The 322 is basically two 301/311 receivers in one. The 522 has two modes. Single Mode, and dual mode. When it's in single mode it functions the same as the 721. When in dual mode, it's basically two 510s in one. Single mode is not currently functional though.

audi0boy posted : Unless I am mistaken, for any digital TV system, you have to have a set-top box to make it work. To be able to have multiple TV's change channels independantly you need one for each TV, and each one has to be individually managed in the providers computer system. That's where the cost per rcvr comes in. DTV had at one time a multi room reciever that only had 1 smart card but had 2 tuners, but it never really took off.
--
never underestimate the power of a genius with a chip on their shoulder
