Most will agree that we like a layered approach to security. A firewall is a part of good layering. There is no one single product.

The AV poll will be coming to a theatre near you soon.... please be patient.

Edit: Tiny refers to Kerio

Zone Alarm on the main system, and McAfee on two others both of those also with windows firewall on, all behind a NAT.... Sooner or later I will get my smoothwall system up and running.

I use the old Kerio 2.15 which still does the job quite nicely, without a lot of extra garbage.

Zonealarm Pro 4.5.594 on main PC (I prefer it to its newer incarnations, due to being much ligher on system resources)

Windows Firewall on 3 others

All behind a NAT router

Yes, version 1.0 is as old as my computer, so it's running soooooo smoothly on my machine. Maybe things would be different if I used an up-to-date version of Outpost, I really don't know. But why should I update? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!:D

D-Link DI-604 NAT/ROUTER & Sygate Personal Firewall 5.6 Build 2808.

I'm not overly anxious to replace Sygate however if I cannot find another comparable free product over next few months I'll probably take a close look at both Outpost Pro and Look'n'Stop.
