Re: Help! Step-by-step instructions to undo. Plz

UPDATE:

Ok, so I did finally manage to convert the USR8054 to the USR5450. The firmware does indeed work. Here are my notes:

1) When you flash with the 5450 bin file and your USR8054 reboots, it will now take the persona of a AP by default.
2) DHCP for the USR5450 is NOT turned on.
3) You have to use the supplied utility to change the IP of 0.0.0.0 to say, 192.168.123.254. The utility was not reliable to pick up the USR5450. Maybe it's just my wireless adapter. I had to refresh the utility a number of times to detect the presence of the AP.
4) Once the new IP is set, it reboots and using the utility, you will see the new IP when it detects the AP's presence.
5) Only the LAN Port 4 will work. I used this instead of the wireless as it is much more stable. I did not get a decent wireless even after it rebooted and partly because my wireless was setup as DHCP.
6) Set a static IP to your computer LAN port, say 192.168.123.253 and plug into port 4. Then use the web browser to get the web admin interface at 192.168.123.254 as you had earlier configured for.

Hope this helps others in case u r wondering what the hell is going on.

BUT, the issue remains, HAS ANYONE tried to reflash back to a USR8054 ? Thanks.

Just upload the USR8054 original firmware via web interface or the 5450 utility..
I test the 5450 and works you just got to reset the modem after the flash, you will notice that after the flash the 5450 utility see it as an 8054 access point..
I play a lot with it but since there were no routing support I turn it back to 8054 firmware.. I need the routing tables... 8054 is powerfull on that..
No problem at all after reflash it back to it's original firmware...
