Skyway is one of the smaller residential satellite broadband operations, and just like their larger satellite broadband competitors generally
fare very poorly in reviews by our users. Users of the company in our forums say
many customers have been without service for a week or more, with the company not being particularly clear about the reason. The company's
website currently insists they're experiencing "technical difficulties" and that users should simply revert to dial-up. However, several of our readers (those who can get through) are being told the company is finished:
quote:
I finally got through to Skyway and the lady that answered the phone said they are not coming back. She tried to sell me Hughes Net for $49.99 a month with free equipment and installation.
Skyway did file Chapter 11
back in September, though it's odd that a complete shut down would have the company website pretending that "engineers are working on the problem." Either way, it doesn't do much for satellite broadband's reputation in general. We've reached out to Skyway and will update the post with any additional information.
