Netflix Biggest Cause of TV Ratings Drop Monday Apr 27 2015 07:44 EDT While cord cutting has been a small but meaningful trickle, TV ratings have also taken a major hit over the last year -- in particularly children's programming. With Netflix now accounting for around 6$ of all TV viewing in the United States, Wall Street analysts estimate that Netflix was responsible for around 43% of the ratings decline networks witnessed last quarter. "Netflix as a percentage of traditional TV will steadily rise to the low-double-digit range over the next four years, representing the majority of the declines in traditional TV viewing," states analyst Michael Nathanson. |
