Fallen!! The image speaks for itself. Dark dingy and dirty, though a way of life for many it must be hell on earth.

Wow, wow wow! Your very best to date. This is what I meant about art - something far from the normal range of shots. Something that makes the viewer think.

Without question your finest work to date. This has impact.

Thanks guys, I have a head FULL of ideas like this, I just never really had the drive to work on any of them until I read Boatct's thread about art. Look for more in the future. :)

BTW I choose B&W for this to give it more of the so called "low life" effect. But the colored version also wasn't too bad, or so I though. Thanks for view.

I'd be interested in seeing both. This vein has so much potential!

Thanks again for the comments to all. Heres the colored version. Honestly, which do you prefer and why?

A difficult choice. The blinds in the B&W have an almost sickly effect, their pulsating light makes me almost nauseous. Your color version is more "real," I feel like I'm looking in on something amazingly real. However, I think B&W has a higher impact.

Both B&W and color have incredible strength in their own right. The color image has as much power as the B&W image. Remarkable work.

Great work! I usually prefer color, but I think the B&W works best for the subject...I imagine a life like that would be very dark & depressing.

I have to agree with all that has been said above. the artistry in this is raw. Slaps you upside the head and makes you take notice.
Awesome work!

Oh, boy! Is this deep and dark but in a most wonderful and powerful way for an image. It's truly a work of art!

YES!! That's truly an ART.
And you do it from scratch, materialising your own vision rather than shot what already is. Awesome. There will be no viewer unaffected by it.

Thank ALL of you for the nice comments, they are very much appreciated. I've been asked by several what I'm doing with drugs and a syringe. lol so I'll say it here, I'm not a druggy, at least not anymore. :) The baggy in the pic is filled with flower, and I photoshopped the syringe in because I didn't have one. Evidently I photoshopped it in pretty well because everyone thought it was real. If you'll notice, the shadow of the syringe is a tad bit off if you'll look closely, other than that I think it turned out pretty well.

This is a fantastic image!! Any image that has the ability to grab you and smack your senses around a bit definatly qualifies as art.

BTW, I prefer the B&W over the color. It is dirtier and has a more grittier feel to the image.

This is a simply stunning and shocking image.

THIS is amazing. Both versions work well. Personally I prefer the color, because I think it is more realsitic, which makes it all the more depressing.

They say art makes you "feel" something -- well, I do...uncomfortable! I mean this in a good way though. Great job - this is art! I prefer the b&w...

It is an amazing image, but I think it looks too staged and too clean. I'm not an expert on this sort of thing, but I tend to believe if the enviornment was truly occupied by a serious addicted person, it wouldn't be so neat or clean. However there is nothing to indicate the level of addiction of the person(s) that reside at this location. It's still a very powerful image, so don't get me wrong, and I do like it.

B&W for me, it gives it much more impact. And I was going to post that it looked way too orderly when I saw JRSlater's comment, with which I concur. Otherwise it is a fantastic shot!

I don't know if I could give anymore kudos as to how great this capture is. As far as things being laid out neatly, who's to say they don't have some sort of OCD as far as keeping their items in order before/after use? Great shot - you can tell because it sure is sparking some talk.
